This was the week of heat in school. Today- Wednesday we even were released from school early. This did not effect any of my classes as all were in session in the first three blocks. By third block the seniors were the ones who really seemed to feel the heat in the room. We toughed it out this week, but we are hoping for a cooler week after the Labor Day weekend.
8th grade has been working on Nouns and have started studying the first unit in the literature. Concepts we have worked on include elements of plot and irony.
10th grade had their first speech this week on the Ten Items about Me. They are preparing two speeches for next week Personal Experience and the Demonstration. These are always fun speeches to listen to.
12th grade finished up Beowulf and are ready to begin Hamlet next week. They almost have the first essay wound up and are finalizing their resumes.
I hope everyone has a great final hurrah for summer. See you after Labor Day!
